ARK has plenty of danger, but some maps look like paradise. Valguero especially gives me sweeping cliffs and lush forests. I can build a base with friends and try to survive. The contrast between the beautiful landscape and the constant threat of dinosaurs is mind-bending. The beauty does not erase the danger.

🏹 Horizon: Zero Dawn — A Flawless Facade

Horizon: Zero Dawn starts off looking like a flawless future Earth. Scenic viewpoints everywhere. Advanced technology. But once I dig deeper, the utopia is a facade. I have to fight machines just to survive. It is one of those games where the pretty surface hides something much darker underneath.

That makes it feel like a truly perfect society to explore.

All these games show that utopias do not have to be boring. Some are peaceful, some hide darkness, and some are just plain weird. But every one of them gives me a world worth getting lost in.
